Africa-Press – Tanzania. MORE than 30 members of Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in Kagera Region have collected nomination forms to vie for parliamentary and council positions, including all incumbent MPs from the region’s nine constituencies.

CCM Kagera Regional Publicity Secretary, Mr Mahamoud Hamim, confirmed the development, listing the incumbents who have picked nomination forms as Adv Stephen Byabato (Bukoba Urban), Dr Jasson Rweikiza (Bukoba Rural), Mr Charles Mwijage (Muleba North), Dr Oscar Ishengoma Kikoyo (Muleba South), Mr Innocent Bashungwa (Karagwe), Mr Florent Kyombo (Missenyi), Eng Ezra Chilewesa (Biharamulo), Mr Ruholo Ndaisaba (Ngara), Mr Innocent Bilakwate (Kyerwa).

Other CCM aspirants include Geofrey Kamugisha, Eng Johnston Mutasingwa, Denice Muganyizi Alex, Amir Hamza and Almasoud Kalumuna, all from Bukoba Urban.

In Muleba North, nominees include Adv Fortunatus Muhalila, Dastan Mutagahywa and Eng Edward Mujungi, while Faris Burhan, a former regional UVCCM Chairman, picked up forms in Bukoba Rural.

In Missenyi, five CCM aspirants, including incumbent MP Florent Kyombo, have taken forms: Adv Salim Bagachwa, Amani Kajuga, Evance Kamenge and Burchard Rwamutoga.

For Ngara Constituency, candidates include Mr Ndaisaba (incumbent), Herbert Muhile and Deogratias Batakanwa.

In Kyerwa, incumbent Mr Bilakwate and Khalid Musa Nsekela are in the race.

Additionally, five CCM members have picked nomination forms for Special Seats at regional level: Aneth Nyamziga, Neema Lugangira, Anitha Bunono, Samira Khalfan Amour, and Devotha Daniel.

Mr Hamim noted that the region comprises 192 Wards and nine constituencies and the deadline for nomination submissions is July 2, 2025.
