Africa-Press – Tanzania. PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Gilead Teri as the new Director General of the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA).

The information was released by the Chief Secretary, Ambassador Moses Kusiluka, on Tuesday.

According to the Chief Secretary, the authority was established following the enactment of the Investment and Special Economic Zones Act No. 6 of 2025.

Additionally, the statement read that the law has merged the functions of the former Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and the former Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA).

Earlier in February this year, the National Assembly passed the Investment and Special Economic Zones Bill, 2024, by introducing significant changes to investment matters.

Among the changes, it included merging the Tanzania Investment Center (TIC) and the Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA).

Following the merger of TIC and EPZA, a new entity known as the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) was formed.

The authority will serve as a one-stop centre for investors, meaning that all investments will fall under one authority.

The passed Bill repeals the previous acts, the Tanzania Investment Act, 2022, and the Special Economic Zones Act, 2002.
