Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) has announced the Tanzanian government, Samia Suluhu Hassan’s presidency, continues to strengthen the business climate and facilitate both local and international trade particularly in the tourism sector, which remains a key pillar in boosting the national economy.
During the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), held at the Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere Grounds (Sabasaba), TAWA’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Beatus Maganja, reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to welcoming investors in various wildlife-based activities, including photographic safaris and game hunting.
“We want to inform Tanzanians and the public at large that TAWA is the right place for business,” said Maganja. “If you are looking to invest, you are warmly welcome.”
He emphasized that under the vision of President Samia, opportunities are being made accessible to all, and TAWA is actively supporting this national agenda by promoting its conservation areas as viable investment destinations.
Maganja further highlighted TAWA manages a range of rare natural resources and breathtaking landscapes that offer immense potential for sustainable investment and national development.
These areas include high-value attractions and unique ecosystems that are ideal for tourism and conservation-related ventures.
Among the conservation areas ready for investment. He mentioned were: Wildlife Park (Arusha), Wami-Mbiki Wildlife Management Area (Morogoro), Mpanga/Kipengere Game Reserve (Mbeya and Njombe, Tabora Zo, Ruhila Zoo along with several other sites rich in untapped opportunities.
On his part, Dr. Gladson Mlay, the Chief Wildlife Officer at TAWA, encouraged citizens to visit the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism’s pavilion during the trade fair.
The pavilion offers a rare chance to witness various wildlife species, including lions, leopards, hyenas, crocodiles, and a wide array of bird species.
Dr. Mlay also invited the public to enjoy expertly prepared roasted wild game meat, which is available at the pavilion. He noted that promoting the responsible consumption of natural resources is one way of encouraging sustainable use and appreciation of Tanzania’s wildlife heritage.
“For those who say they’ve never eaten grilled game meat, that meat is available here, including skewers and meat to take home. So everyone is welcome to come taste, eat, and see for yourselves that indeed our natural resources belong to all of us,” said Dr. Mlay
