Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Chairperson of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Court of Appeal Judge Jacobs Mwambegele, has called on election officials to carry out their duties fairly and without bias towards any political parties or candidates, to ensure the 2025 General Election is free, fair, and transparent.

Speaking during a three-day training session for assistant election supervisors at the ward level from Kyela and Rungwe District Councils in Mbeya Region, Judge Mwambegele emphasized that impartial supervision of all parties and candidates is essential for strengthening democracy and building trust among election stakeholders.

“You must act fairly towards all political parties and candidates. This will help reduce complaints, build confidence among stakeholders, and enhance democracy in the country,” Judge Mwambegele stressed.

The training is part of preparations for the General Election scheduled to take place on October 29, 2025, and aims to equip election supervisors with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles professionally and efficiently.

Additionally, Judge Mwambegele reminded the officials of the importance of honoring their oaths by executing their duties under the law, regulations, and guidelines set by the Commission, to ensure the entire election process is conducted with integrity and transparency.
