Africa-Press – Tanzania. CHAMA cha Ukombozi wa Umma (CHAUMMA) has announced that it will launch the draft of its election manifesto, built around eight main pillars, during the party’s General Assembly at the Mlimani City Hall in Dar es Salaam.
Chaumma’s Secretary-General, Salum Mwalimu, said the manifesto is aimed at addressing various challenges facing Tanzanians, describing it as “a cure for the nation’s long-standing ailments since independence.”
“Our manifesto is filled with solutions to the many challenges facing citizens. It will be a true liberation for the current and future generations. We aim to promote inclusive economic growth to reduce individual income poverty and improve the well-being of Tanzanian society,” he said.
The key pillars outlined in the manifesto include: eradicating poverty, building ethical leadership, upholding human rights and the rule of law, easing the cost of living for citizens, and attracting investors by creating a friendly business environment.
Mwalimu also stressed the importance of finalizing the process of drafting a New Constitution, noting that it is a crucial foundation for genuine political and social reforms in the country.
Adding, he said Chaumma intends to use the manifesto as a guiding tool in its campaigns for the upcoming General Election scheduled for October 29, 2025, to build a nation rooted in equality, justice, and development for all.
