CCM presidential running mate, Ambassador Emmanuel Nchimbi has praised the party’s presidential candidate, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan for her outstanding leadership, which he said has not only transformed citizens’ livelihoods, but also elevated Tanzania’s position in international economic diplomacy.
Speaking at a campaign rally yesterday in Meatu District, Simiyu Region, Amb Nchimbi said Dr Samia has strengthened diplomatic relations globally, ensuring that Tanzania maintains peaceful relations with all countries.
“Dr Samia has demonstrated exceptional capability in promoting economic diplomacy. She engages global leaders with both dignity and respect,” said Amb Nchimbi.
Amb Nchimbi also credited Dr Samia for effective implementation of major strategic projects including the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project (JNHPP), and JP Magufuli Bridge.
While construction of the SGR is ongoing, the JNHPP is now operational, contributing 2,115 megawatts to the national grid.
The Magufuli Bridge has also significantly enhanced connectivity in the Lake Zone.
“These are tangible accomplishments. Dr Samia deserves to be elected,” he told supporters.
Amb Nchimbi said the implementation of CCM’s 2020–2025 Election Manifesto in Meatu has been effective due to strong collaboration between citizens and the government.
He listed key achievements in Meatu, where dispensaries increased from one to two, health centres increased from 31 to 36, primary schools rose from 65 to 74, secondary schools increased from 17 to 19 and classrooms expanded from 610 to 942 The running mate said access to clean water improved from 52 per cent to 69 per cent, following a government investment of 11.7bn/-, though he acknowledged water challenges still exist in some areas.
he also said that the number of electrified hamlets increased from 192 to 295, and connected villages rose from 52 to 109.
Amb Nchimbi pledged that if CCM is re-elected, 15 new dispensaries, four health centres, and five secondary schools will be built in Meatu.
He also said three irrigation schemes will be established to support agriculture, a crops warehouse will be constructed, and subsidised inputs (fertilisers and pesticides) will be provided.
He further said that ten outdated cattle dips will be renovated and 10 kilometres of tarmac road will be constructed from Meatu District office, along with 3km in Mwandoya town to improve local accessibility.
While concluding his tour of Simiyu Region in Mwasa, Amb Nchimbi announced that within the first 100 days of a new CCM government, a Reconciliation Commission will be established to promote national unity.
“The commission will ensure all Tanzanians regardless of tribe, religion, or political ideology are heard and respected. Our goal is to preserve peace, harmony, and pride in our national identity,” he said.
The commission, he added, will help uphold the legacy of peace built by Tanzania’s founding leaders and maintain the country’s image as a beacon of social cohesion and stability.
Later in Kishapu District, Shinyanga Region, Amb Nchimbi outlined a number of achievements under President Samia, whereby health centres increased from six to eight, dispensaries increased from 43 to 55, while district hospital has been renovated and equipped with modern medical equipment, including X-rays.
He said primary schools rose from 122 to 131, secondary schools increased from 27 to 29, clean water supply expanded from 50 to 76 villages under the Lake Victoria Water Project He said if re-elected, CCM will build 15 more dispensaries, two secondary schools, and five primary schools, expand clean water access to 23 more villages and drill six wells to complement the Lake Victoria project.
Citizens at the rallies praised President Samia’s leadership for delivering on development promises.
Ms Rose Rashid, a local trader said “She has made tangible achievements that benefit everyone. That’s why the public trusts CCM to lead again in the October 29 election.”
