Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on institutions and civil society organizations accredited to provide voter education in the 2025 general election to carry out the responsibility effectively and professionally.
INEC’s Director of Elections, Kailima Ramadhani, made the call today September 8, 2025, when opening a workshop between the Commission and those institutions and organizations held in Dodoma Region.
Additionally, he said that INEC expects institutions and civil society organizations to deliver targeted voter education, emphasizing issues that help citizens, candidates, and political parties understand how to participate in campaigns peacefully and calmly, including a clear understanding of voting procedures.
Emphasizing, he noted that the commission does not expect to see them causing confusion or any form of chaos in society.
“We have witnessed this happen in other African countries; we don’t expect to see those conflicts in our country,” he stated.
Moreover, he said that the institutions and organizations are not allowed to transfer the accreditation they have been granted to other individuals, institutions, or organizations, and that such accreditation should only be used by the intended recipients.
The workshop brought together leaders of the Independent National Electoral Commission and representatives of 164 institutions and organizations accredited to provide voter education, during which various topics were presented.
