Africa-Press – Tanzania. CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) parliamentary candidate for the Tunguu constituency, Simai Mohamed Said, has urged residents not to sell their land, noting that the CCM-led government has already embarked on a major road construction project aimed at increasing land value and opening up new economic opportunities.
Simai made the remarks during the official launch of his campaign for the Tunguu constituency ahead of the October 2025 General Elections.
He revealed that the government has initiated the construction of a 48km paved road stretching from Tunguu to Makunduchi in the Southern Region of Unguja.
The project is expected to significantly boost the value of land along the route and improve infrastructure in the region.
“This road project is not only about improving transport — it will transform the economic potential of our area. I urge you to hold onto your land because its value is about to rise,” said Simai.
In addition to infrastructure development, Simai encouraged both CCM members and the wider public to continue supporting leaders from Chama Cha Mapinduzi, stating that sustained support for the party is essential for achieving further milestones in national development.
“Progress does not come by chance. It is a result of deliberate policy, leadership, and commitment, values that CCM upholds,” he added.
The Tunguu-Makunduchi road project forms part of broader government efforts to modernise infrastructure across Zanzibar and stimulate inclusive economic growth, particularly in previously underdeveloped areas.
