Africa-Press – Tanzania. ZANZIBAR: THE Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Presidential Candidate for Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, stated that his government has made significant progress in eliminating discrimination, conflicts, and divisive politics over the past five years.
Speaking at a meeting with religious leaders, sheikhs, monks, and priests held at the conference hall of the Skuli ya Utaani in Wete, North Pemba Region, Dr. Mwinyi said that the unity of the Zanzibari people is the main pillar of the government’s success and national development.
He explained that the Eighth Phase Government under CCM has succeeded in strengthening reconciliation, national unity, and eliminating discrimination in national positions and responsibilities for the benefit of all citizens.
President Dr. Mwinyi stated that major achievements have been made in education, health, social welfare, water services, and infrastructure, emphasizing that the government has already opened up Pemba economically and developmentally.
He added that the construction of roads, ports, and airports is are vital tool for the economic opening of the country, which the government will continue to strengthen in the next phase.
Furthermore, Dr. Mwinyi assured religious leaders and citizens that the government will continue to engage all denominations and religions without discrimination in discussing national issues and social welfare.
