Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Drug Control and Enforcement Authority (DCEA) has been decorated for its excellence in the preparation of financial statements for the year 2024.
The authority got the award for its adherence to the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) in the category of autonomous government institutions.
The award was presented by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) on Wednesday night during a ceremony held at the NBAA APC Hotel Conference Center in Bunju, Dar es Salaam.
Speaking shortly after receiving the award, the Commissioner General of the DCEA, Aretas Lyimo commended the Finance and Accounting Unit for successfully preparing high-quality financial statements, which led to winning the award for excellence in financial reporting for the year 2024.
According to the Commissioner General, the statements were prepared in accordance with the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) under the category of autonomous government institutions adding that winning the award is proof that the Drug Control and Enforcement Authority adheres to financial laws, procurement regulations, and various guidelines governing the funds disbursed by the Treasury from time to time.
“I would like to thank all the Authority’s staff, especially the finance and internal audit team, for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to ensuring that our financial reports are prepared at the highest internationally recognized standards. This award is the result of their hard work, discipline, and teamwork within the institution,” he said.
