Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA’S national boxing team – The Black Sharks, begin their campaign at the IBA World Boxing Championships in Dubai today, with Enzi Kasililika taking to the ring against Joshua Cousin of Seychelles.

Kasililika will compete in the 75kg middleweight category in the 37th fight of Session Two, scheduled for midnight at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.

The tournament features boxers from 108 countries across 13 weight divisions.

The championships carry total prize money of 8.32 million US dollars, with winners receiving between 10,000 and 300,000 US dollars.

The prize is split so that 50 per cent goes to the boxer, 25 per cent to the national federation and 25 per cent to the coaches. Tanzania is represented by five boxers under Head Coach Samwel Kapungu.

Alongside Kasililika, the team includes Rashidi Mrema in the 60kg lightweight division, Faki Faki in 54kg bantamweight, Juma Athumani in 51kg flyweight and Ally Ngwando in 48kg minimum weight.
