Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE European Union (EU) has officially lifted restrictions that had been hindering key areas of Tanzania’s national development.
CCM National Secretary for Ideology, Publicity and Training, Mr Kenani Kihongosi, made the announcement when concluding his working tour in Singida region today, January 23, 2026, noting that the move marks a positive signal and reflects international recognition of Tanzania’s efforts to uphold national unity, peace and stability.
Additionally, he stated that the decision also acknowledges the commitment of both the government and the Tanzanian citizens to promoting sustainable development in an environment of peace and social cohesion.
Moreover, Kihongosi urged Tanzanians to reject tribalism, religious divisions, and regionalism, stressing that Tanzania remains one united nation whose strong sense of solidarity enhances its international standing and supports inclusive development.
He said preserving unity and harmony is essential for strengthening the country’s reputation globally and ensuring that all citizens benefit from national development efforts.
