AfricaPress-Tanzania: Ruvuma Regional Commissioner, Ambassador Wilbert Ibuge has instructed eight councils in the region through health professionals to oversee education to protect themselves from third-party corona infections.

Ambassador Ibuge issued the directive while addressing district commissioners, council directors and civil servants at the regional and district levels at Songea Municipal Hall.

He called for a continuous education on self-protection before the onset of the corona should be provided to the public, including wearing braces, the use of soap and water, and avoiding unnecessary gatherings.

“I have been around and around some areas in Songea I have seen the people have abandoned the steps we had taken in the first wave for example, outside the service areas buckets have no water or soap, we manage to educate the people because prevention is less expensive than treatment,” said Ambassador Ibuge .

He said the corona is in the country, but in that region the threat is not so great, but since there is an interaction of people traveling in and out of self-defense education should be managed.

“The issue of protection is easy to see as irrelevant as the consequences have not yet been seen, we have all heard various instructions from the Ministry of Health and through national leaders including the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, the third wave of corona is already in the country let’s take precautions,” he said.
