Africa-Press – Tanzania. SIX teams will be in action hunting for maximum points in the three venues as the NBC Premier League knocks its sixth round today.
The headline making fixture will be staged at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza, where Ruvu Shooting will host the defending champions Simba with each side eager to claim a victory.
Another mouth-watering game will be at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Rukwa where struggling Tanzania Prisons will have questions to answer from debutants Mbeya Kwanza who seem to have gathered the league’s momentum.
Tanzania Prisons are yet to denounce the win-less nightmare which has gripped them in their five-game run to occupy the last slot on the 16-team table, hence; any negative outcome in today’s encounter, will put them in a serious danger.
At Ushirika Stadium in Kilimanjaro, Polisi Tanzania have pointed their arsenals at Coastal Union as the two sides meet in an explosive fixture. As usual, much focus by the football fraternity will be directed to Mwanza to see who wins the high profile game basing on the fact that whenever the duo meets, the grass suffers a lot.
For Simba, they will try to approach the game on full throttle backed by their new Spanish coach Pablo Franco who is making his debut at the helm of the defending champions hence a win will be a good start for him.
The Msimbazi Street Reds have hauled 11 points from five games and have since scored three goals with their latest Premier League match against Namungo ending 1-0courtesy of Meddie Kagere late header to enable his side claim three points. However, in comparison with the last season, by this time, after five matches, Simba had 13points and had scored 14 goals something which in a nutshell means that the champions are still struggling to put the ball behind the net.
For Ruvu Shooting, through their Spokesperson Masau Bwire have already vowed to surprise Simba and make sure that they snatch all three points from them.
He has since dubbed the game as ‘Bongo El Classico’ on condition that Simba is coached by the former Real Madrid Assistant Coach and he literally refers to his side as Barcelona of Tanzania hence El Classico.
Ruvu Shooting are placed 10th on the table with 6 points and will go into the game without Head Coach Boniface Mkwasa who is still serving his three- match suspension as such, he will follow the proceeding from the stands.
The league continues tomorrow with other three hot fixtures where at Ilulu Stadium in Lindi, hosts Namungo will entertain league leaders Young Africans while at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya, Mbeya City will face Mtibwa Sugar and Kagera Sugar will be at their Kaitaba Stadium in Kagera hosting debutants Geita.
