Africa-Press – Tanzania. PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni of Ugan- da arrived in Tanzania on Saturday for a three-day state visit.

The Ugandan highest of- fice bearer and his delegation arrived at the terminal one of the Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) aboard Gulfstream 5X-UGF at around 2.38PM.

Upon arrival, he was received by his host, President Samia Suluhu Hassan who was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Am- bassador Liberata Mulamula and other senior government officials.

The visiting president was introduced to government officials present at the airport on his arrival before proceeding to the saluting dais for national anthems of the two countries and that of the East African Community (EAC).

Mr Museveni also re- ceived a 21-gun salute as the national anthems were being played by members of the Tanzania People’s Defence Forces (TPDF) before he was accompanied by Chief of De- fence Forces (CDF), General Venance Mabeyo to inspect a guard of honour mounted by the TPDF.

After inspecting the guard of honour, President Museveni then returned to the salut- ing dais for a second round of national anthems.

Some officials of the Uganda High Commission and other Ugandan nation- als living in Tanzania were also introduced to President Museveni as he was leaving the dais to view traditional dancers.

After that, President Samia and her guest, the Ugandan top leader left the airport for Dar es Salaam State House where the two held a closed door meeting for bilateral talks, popularly described as tete-a-tete.

The two presidents are expected to participate in a business forum between Tanzania and Uganda, where among other things it will focus on the oil and gas sector.

President Museveni is also scheduled to visit Dar es Salaam Port and inspect the ongoing construction of Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) at the main station.

The Ugandan leader will also visit Chato District in Geita Region and hand over a primary school constructed through his sponsorship to the government and visit the family of the late fifth phase president, John Magufuli.

Thereafter, President Mu- seveni will conclude his visit and bid farewell to his host, President Samia and return to his country.
