Africa-Press – Tanzania. The construction of Tanzanite Bridge, formerly known as New Selander Bridge, is fully completed and will be open for public use next Tuesday, the government announced on Sunday.
Works and Transport Minister Prof. Makame Mbarawa said the construction work on the 240bn/- state-of-art bridge is 100 percent complete.
“Members of the public are allowed to use the bridge from February 1 (Tuesday) pending its official opening on the later date. We will invite President Samia Suluhu Hassan to officiate the opening,” he said.
The bridge will be open 24 hours and road users will not be charged. It will be for free,” Prof Mbarawa said during his visit to inspect the completed flyover in the city.
