CRDB BOSS CONFERRED OUTSTANDING CEO IN AFRICA

AFRICAN Leadership Magazine has conferred Hall of Fame on CRDB Bank Group CEO, Abdulmajid Nsekela for outstanding business leadership.

The award was established to spotlight ground-breaking contributions by leaders and top-level executives in the African business terrain who exemplifies integrity, insists upon excellence, earns the trust of others and has built a regional competitive organisation.

The Tanzania Ambassador to South Africa, (rtd) Major General Gaudence Milanzi said Nsekela’s Hall of Fame award reflect on the remarkable work he has done in transforming not only CRDB but also the financial industry in Tanzania.

“I am simply happy and proud of his achievement on this momentous occasion,” Ambassador Milanzi, was one of the attendees during the ceremony, said.

The ‘Hall of Fame’ title for outstanding business leadership was awarded by African Leadership Magazine at the sidelines of the 8th African Leadership Magazine’s Persons of the Year Award in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Hall of Fame awardees were also acknowledged for exhibited a passion, knack and commitment to diligence, success and transformational leadership in their bid to make Africa prosperous.

CRDB CEO was among top leaders recognised as business superstars, for their exemplary leadership. Speaking in Dar es Salaam, Mr Nsekela after being conferred the ‘Hall of Fame’ honour said he was humbled and delighted to be recognised in African Leadership Magazine Hall of Fame honour list.

“This recognition is also an affirmation of our team’s dedicated efforts and drive in facilitating exemplary customer service and business, which we are constantly reviewing.

“I wish to thank the African Leadership Magazine for recognising our work,” Mr Nsekela said.

CRDB Director of Corporate Affairs said the award was an indication of the strong leadership within the institution and the fundamental role Nsekela is playing in transforming the financial industry as the Chairman of Tanzania Bankers Association (TBA).

“Mr Nsekela is helping to reshape the financial industry into playing an increasing role in social-economic development projects,” said Ms Mwambapa.

The event theme was ‘Africans for Africa-Exploring the gains of a connected continent’, had in attendance of about 250.

Some dignitaries who attended the event included Mr David Mabuza, Deputy President of South Africa and Ms Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Minister for Corporative Governance and Traditional Affairs, South Africa.

CRDB speaks authoritatively on the country’s development agenda, because of its close partnerships with governments and unparalleled commitment to help country in building a semi-industrialised economy by year 2025.

The Bank is strongly supporting the government strategic projects such as Standard Gauge Railway and Nyerere Hydro-electric Power Project, which when completed, will help fast-track industrialisation agenda.

Last year, the bank embarked on digital transformation journey to drive financial inclusion, this has resulted to a stellar performance recording 87 per cent increase in profit to 120bn/-compared to 64.2bn/-in 2018.
