CRDB Bank has officially launched the second cohort of its Graduate Trainee Program, aimed at nurturing young talent in the financial sector. The program will equip selected graduates with essential skills to thrive in the job market, with 26 candidates chosen from over 4,800 applications. This initiative underscores the bank’s commitment to fostering future leaders in Tanzania and beyond.

Africa-Press – Tanzania. IN a continued effort to develop young talent and prepare future leaders in the financial sector, CRDB Bank has officially launched the second cohort of its Graduate Trainee Program.

The initiative aims to equip high-potential graduates with the skills needed to succeed in the competitive job market.

Speaking at the launch event, the bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Abdulmajid Mussa Nsekela, said the institution remains committed to investing in young people with talent, creativity, and strong vision to strengthen both current and future leadership.

He explained that the three-year program is designed to identify and nurture talent from both within and outside Tanzania. Participants come not only from Tanzania but also from countries where the bank operates, including Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as other locations such as Dubai.

According to Nsekela, more than 4,800 applications were received this year.

However, after a highly competitive selection process, only 26 candidates were chosen to join the program.

Of those selected, 18 are from Tanzania, while Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo each contributed four participants.

Meanwhile, the bank’s Director of Human Resources, Godfrey Rutasingwa, noted that this cohort brings together young professionals from the three countries, all of whom have already begun their journey of professional and practical development within the bank.

He added that this is the second cohort following the success of the first, which involved 30 participants from the same countries.

The earlier group made significant contributions to the bank’s growth, particularly through innovation in technology and digital systems.

One of the trainees, Frank Mukwabe, described the program as a valuable opportunity for fresh graduates who often lack practical work experience when entering the job market.

“We expect this program to produce future leaders who will drive transformation in the financial sector through technology and contribute to Tanzania’s economic growth,” he said.

CRDB Bank has been a key player in Tanzania’s financial landscape, focusing on developing local talent to meet the demands of a competitive job market. The Graduate Trainee Program is part of a broader strategy to enhance the skills of young professionals, ensuring they are well-prepared for future challenges in the banking sector. The success of the first cohort has set a precedent for ongoing investment in human capital, reflecting the bank’s vision for sustainable growth and innovation in financial services.
