Africa-Press – Tanzania. TWAHA Kassim, alias ‘Twaha Kiduku’, will fight Alex Kabangu from the Democratic Republic of Congo in Morogoro next month.
Peaktime Media Chief Coordinator Major Selemani Semunyu unveiled this during the signing of the contract of the international level bout between the two boxers in Morogoro.
He said other than the main fight; there will be undercard bouts involving top boxers from Morogoro.
In the same event Joseph Mchapeni will face Ally Mwerangi before Juma Misari facing Kareem Mandonga. Also to entertain the cloud is the upcoming boxer Ayubu Mwankina and many others.
This fight will be Kiduku’s first fight this year; in August, he stepped on ring to fight Abdallah Paziwapazi at the ‘Debt Night’ bout held at Ubungo Plaza, Dar es Salaam.
Kiduku won the fight after all four judges voted for him. The judges were; Pendo Njau, Theresia Kapinga, Chaurembo Palasa and Modest Rashid.
Kiduku has fought 27 bouts; he has won 18, drawn once and lost eight. In his four fights last year, he won twice and lost twice.
Both of the bouts he won were staged in Dar es Salaam. He beat Paziwapazi and the Congolese boxer Bebe Rico Tshibangu. However, he was defeated by Ulugbek Sobirov in Egypt and Bek Nurmagambet in Russia.
His opponent Kabangu began his boxing career in 2017 and fought 11, won five, registered three draws and lost three.
The Congolese boxer did not have a good record last year as he fought twice and grabbed a draw and a loss.
However, he picked a single victory since 2019 that was against Frank Rodrigues of South Africa in 2019.
After signing the contract, Kiduku said he hails the support given to him by Tanzanians.
It has been increasingly giving him the ability to do well in every fight while promising to do well and beat his opponent.
“Of course, I have signed a fight contract; I will have adequate preparations under the supervision of coach Pawa Ilanda.
It issuch an honour to fight at home as the people of Morogoro and other parts of Tanzania are my big supporters.
“The promoter has already planned everything on the bout day, but I request the fight to take place in the town-centre so that more people can attend.
