Africa-Press – Tanzania. YOUNG Africans have opened up that coach Miguel Gamondi will be given freedom to select his own technical staff he thinks can amicably help him to propel the team further in the upcoming season.
Unveiling this in Dar es Salaam on Friday was the club’s Media and Communication Manager Ali Kamwe who said the gesture aims at enabling the coach to have full control of his technical panel.
“As management, we have provided him recommendations concerning the technical staff but he is the one who has been blessed to choose the panel he thinks will assist him to execute coaching responsibilities well.
“When he picks his full staff, we will notify our members and fans about the one who is going to be Assistant Coach, physical trainer, analyst, manager and others,” Kamwe said.
Moreover, he disclosed that next week, they intend to unveil the team’s 2023/24 new kits and thereafter, the exercise to parade new players who have been added to the existing squad will commence.
“Our members and fans should be ready to welcome aboard quality players who have been signed to add value to the team ahead of the upcoming season of which we want to continue with our invincible performance,” Kamwe said.
Commenting on speculations that former Simba player Jonas Mkude is on the verge to join Yanga, Kamwe replied that no club can undervalue the performance of Mkude.
“For me, he is one of the best holding midfielders in the country and wherever he goes to play, he is going to benefit the team a lot that team…for us, signing him depends on the needs of the technical bench and management.
“If they will be satisfied, then nothing can stop us from signing him, but he is a prolific player as we all know,” he said.
So far, the Jangwani based club has parted company with four players who will not be part and parcel of the squad in their approaching season who are Erick Johola, Bernard Morrison, Tuisila Kisinda and Dickson Ambundo.
According to Kamwe, the exercise to farewell other players is continuing as they want to build a strong team capable of competing for titles next season whereby they will be compelled to defend the three domestic trophies won last term.
Apart from bagging three silverwares, Yanga also reached in the finals of CAF Confederation Cup only to surrender the championship to Algeria’s side USM Alger courtesy of away goal rule following a 2-2 aggregate win.
