Africa-Press – Tanzania. ACT-WAZALENDO councillor candidate Mr Sebastian Ezekiel has promised to tackle water crisis and youth unemployment facing Kawekamo Ward residents, if elected in the October 29th General Election.
Addressing residents on Wednesday during a campaign rally at Kawekamo, Mwanza Region Mr Ezekiel urged voters to support him, so he could work with the Ilemela Municipal Council to resolve the ward’s pressing issues.
“Kawekamo faces a serious water shortage, especially in mountainous areas where residents have limited access to water. If elected, I will prioritise solving this problem,” he said.
He also promised to ensure women and youth access the 10 per cent loans allocated by the council pledging to oversee the implementation of development projects in the ward.
“I will work to build proper drainage systems and roads at Kawekamo. For instance, we will construct ditches in the Nyasaka B cemetery to prevent erosion and the collapse of graves during the rainy season,” Mr Ezekiel said.
Addressing unemployment, he committed to seeking opportunities and providing capital for young people to enable them to start businesses and become self-reliant.
According to the Ilemela Constituency Returning Officer, Mr Herbert Bilia, a total of 69 candidates are contesting for councilor positions across the constituency under various political parties.
