Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Shadow Minister for Industry and Trade from the ACT-Wazalendo party, Advocate Mwanaisha Zuberi Mndeme, has officially announced her intention to contest for the Member of Parliament seat for Kigamboni constituency in Dar es Salaam in the upcoming General Election scheduled for October this year. Advocate Mndeme has collected nomination forms through her party to vie for the position.
Speaking in press conference in Dar es Salaam today, after collecting the nomination forms, Advocate Mndeme stated that if granted the mandate by Kigamboni residents, she will be a true voice for the people in Parliament and will work to find solutions to the various challenges they face.
Highlighting one of the major challenges facing Kigamboni residents, she pointed out poor infrastructure as a persistent problem in several areas of the constituency. She cited Pemba Mnazi and Kisarwe II wards as examples, where there are no roads at all, forcing residents to incur high transportation costs.
“Today, Kigamboni faces serious infrastructure issues. For instance, in Pemba Mnazi and Kisarwe II wards, there are no roads at all. Residents are forced to spend a lot on transportation. If elected as Member of Parliament, I will ensure these problems are addressed,” said Advocate Mndeme.
She further stated that if elected, she will advocate for social protection policies for fishermen so that they can benefit from social security funds, including access to retirement benefits like other workers.
“I will be the voice of fishermen, as many people in Kigamboni depend on fishing. I will ensure they get a supportive environment to work without hindrances,” she added.
Regarding policies and legislation, Advocate Mndeme emphasized that she will use her legal expertise in Parliament to ensure that laws enacted protect the country’s resources and serve the broader interests of Tanzanians.
In conclusion, she reiterated that her party, ACT-Wazalendo, is participating in this year’s General Election to fulfill the democratic right of voting. She urged all Kigamboni and Tanzanian citizens to turn out in large numbers to cast their votes and make informed decisions for the development of the nation.
“This is a year of decision. Citizens should come out in large numbers to vote and bring about real change,” concluded Advocate Mndeme.
