Africa-Press – Tanzania. WATER Minister Jumaa Aweso has promoted Musoma Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (MUWASA) Managing Director, CPA Joyce Msiru, to the ministry headquarters to head water supply and sanitation services.
Minister Aweso announced the decision during a public rally held in Rorya district, Mara region last Friday shortly after inaugurating a multimillion rehabilitation of water infrastructure project at the small town of Shirati.
He described CPA Msiru as hard-working MD who has successfully managed to oversee implementation of tedious projects that had in the past stalled for years.
The projects included the multimillion Manchira Dam project in Mugumu that was inaugurated by the Minister on Saturday. CPA Msiru had also set an exemplary record after successfully supervising major rehabilitation of water infrastructure project at the small town of Shirati, which was also inaugurated by Minister Aweso last week.
“There were sluggish projects whose implementation was so difficult and one of them is the Manchira water project in Mugumu, Serengeti district. You ( CPA Msiru) have made me proud. We gave her many projects including this one of Shirati that she has delivered within 21 days instead of 30 days that we had given her, There is none like sister Joyce”, Minister Aweso said, when he was just about to announce the promotion of CPA Msiru.
According to a press release made available to the public by the ministry’s communication’s department few hours after CPA Msiru’s appointment, she takes the position of Eng Charles Mafie, who would be assigned another post.
