Africa-Press – Tanzania. CLASH of titans deserves today’s Premier League fixture between Young Africans and Azam at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The two teams meet in a history making encounter bearing in mind that aside from three points they will be battling for, both sides will be keen to stamp memorable feat to their fans. After weeks of talkings and predictions from the football fraternity, the time has come to let 90 minutes of play provide the answer who deserves to walk out with three points.

Yanga, who currently lead the 16-team table with 9 points, would like to stretch their unbeaten run of the campaign to four matches and pocket 12 points in process which will be a big boost for them.

Speaking on Friday in the city, Yanga Assistant Coach Cedric Kaze said they have thoroughly accomplished all necessary preparations ahead of the game and are looking forward to collect three points.

“Definitely, it will be a difficult match because both sides have transformed their squads in comparison with the last season. As such, the level of competition will be high due to transformation both teams have had. “If we were meeting them with the same squad we had last season, it could have been easy to give predictions but as I said, both teams have made almost 80 per cent changes to their previous squads,” he said.

Again, Kaze disclosed that they currently do not have injuries in their team hence; the available players will try to give everything for the sake of generating good results.

He also highlighted that in football, deploying many strikers is not a guarantee that you are going to score goals but what matters most is on how you use well the channels to make sure you break the opponents’ defence and let the ball roll into the net.

On his part, Azam’s Assistant Coach Vivier Bahati also narrated that they are on full throttle ready to face Yanga a team he described as one of their tough opponents in the Premier League.

“It is a big match and all our players who are needed for this great battle are available. Our strategy is to win and nothing less than that and I believe that it will be a good match because historically, Yanga versus Azam is always a great encounter,” he said.

He however made it clear that their top striker Prince Dube will not be part of today’s match as he is still undergoing treatment even though he has begun to do individual training programmes.

“We cannot risk to feature him while we know that he is not 100 per cent fit as such, we have given him enough recovery period so that when he returns, he should possess the usual scoring instincts. “But, I have strong belief that those who will be selected to play will do a commendable job for the club,” Bahati insisted.

Furthermore, Bahati noted that the issue of bonuses introduced in the league this season, to a large extent has helped a lot to make the contest very competitive unlike in the previous campaign.
