Africa-Press – Tanzania. CCM’s Secretary for Ideology, Publicity, and Training, CPA Amos Makalla, has officially announced the list of party members who have been nominated to proceed to the internal opinion poll stage in the preliminary process for parliamentary seats across various constituencies in Kagera Region, ahead of the General Election scheduled for October 29, 2025.
In Karagwe Constituency, former MP Innocent Bashungwa has been named among the six contenders.
He will compete against Princepilus Rwazo, Adolf Rwantungamo, Devotha Alexander, Comfort Blandes, and Akida Mnyambo.
According to Makalla, Biharamulo West Constituency has six shortlisted candidates: Ezra Chilewesa, Benidict Kipeja, Oscar Mukasa, Antony Choya, Dr. Magnus Bainyikila, and Saada Kalabaki.
In Bukoba Urban, the five selected aspirants are Almasoud Kalumuna, Alex Muganyizi, Jamilla Emir, Johnson Mutabindwa, and Kokufatuka Ruta. For Bukoba Rural, the six nominees are Jahson Rwekiza, Astid Peter, Faris Burhan, Edmund Rutaraka, Fahami Juma, and Philbert Bagenda.
In Kyerwa Constituency, the shortlisted candidates are Khalid Nsekela, Speransa Marko, Innocent Balikwate, Markson Bartazary, Steven Katemba, and Bernito Mutungile. Misenyi Constituency has seven contenders: Projest Tigamalisho, Florent Kiombo, Asumpta Mshama, Jackiline Rushaygo, Amina Athuman, Nassir Byabato, and Pracsud Ndibalema.
Muleba North Constituency has five selected candidates: Adonis Bitegeko, Charles Mwijage, Fotunatus Muhalila, Dankan Mutagayiwa, and Edward Mujungi. In Muleba South, the six nominated individuals are Simon Wansulebe, Denis Charles, Dr. Oscar Kikoyo, Abdulmajid Ahmada, Dr. Modestius Buchard, and Dudus Clemence.
For Ngara Constituency, the six names on the shortlist are Steven Kagaigai, Dotto Bahemu, Harubeti Muhile, Hilary Ruhindwa, Restutha Binambi, and Lameck Gaston.
Makalla emphasized that the vetting process considered the qualifications, integrity, and leadership capabilities of each aspirant, based on feedback from party members, local leaders, and performance assessments within the community.
