COORDINATOR for Regional Health Management Teams, Health System Strenghthening Resource Centre, Emergency Medical Services and Research & Publication in the Regional Administration and Local Government, Dr James Kengia wants inclusion of health promotion aspects in all health projects.
Closing a five-day capacity building health promotion train- ing for health workers from public health facilities across the country, Dr Kengia said the public needs to be informed so that they become part and parcel of the positive changes.
During the training, a total of 52 health workers including 26 regional health coordinators and 26 regional school health promo- tion coordinators from all regions in the country received training on health promotion at the University of Dodoma (UDOM).
Some other 13 national level health promotion coordinators and administrators also took part in the training, thanks to partnership between the Health Promotion and System Strengthening Project (HPSS) and UDOM for joining hands in health promotion initiatives.
He said they must change the focus and include health promotion agenda in all projects as it is a key driver for positive change.
Speaking on behalf of par- ticipants during the closing ceremony, Dr Ndenina Swai, Coordinator, School Health Education in Dar es Salaam region noted that the training which focused on how to provide health education at lower levels school was very fruitful.
