Africa-Press – Tanzania. ENTREPRENEURS in Dodoma Region have been encouraged to capitalise on business opportunities presented during the upcoming election campaign period, to boost their economic status, as politics and the economy are closely linked.
In an interview in Dodoma city, Senior Business Development Officer at the Small Industries Development Organisation (SIDO) in Dodoma Region, Mr Crispin Kapinga urged entrepreneurs to take advantage of campaign rallies held in their communities to promote and sell their products.
“Politics and the economy go hand in hand, so it is important for entrepreneurs to use this period to conduct business,” he said.
Mr Kapinga said that numerous opportunities will arise during campaigns and entrepreneurs should be well-prepared, ensuring their products meet high-quality standards.
“The world is evolving and many have received training. Now it is their responsibility to improve product quality by adhering to health and hygiene standards, which is crucial for protecting consumer health,” he added.
He said that producing quality, valueadded products builds customer trust and sustains confidence in their offerings. Reflecting on the recently concluded Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition 2025, Mr Kapinga noted significant improvements this year.
“The exhibition saw major enhancements that impressed both exhibitors and visitors, offering valuable learning opportunities. Additionally, internal infrastructure, especially roads, underwent substantial upgrades,” he said.
He encouraged entrepreneurs to further improve their product packaging, labelling and customer communication skills, noting that these areas require more training.
Furthermore, Mr Kapinga explained that in line with the implementation of the National Development Vision 2025–2050, SIDO is focusing on leveraging digital technology to reach a wider audience.
