Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation Tanzania (CCBRT) has received an assortment of essentials worth 3000 US dollars (approximately 7m/-) donated by RHYTHM Foundation Tanzania.
RHYTHM Foundation which is QNET’s community service arm, donated various basic provisions like beddings, cleaning supplies, toiletries, utensils, mosquito nets and other essentials.
Speaking during the donation hand over event in Dar es Salaam, the Head of Nursing Unit at the hospital Emelda Lwena appreciated the foundation for the support, saying it will support their efforts to change lives.
“On behalf of CCBRT, I would like to thank RYTHM for the generous support; you have demonstrated your commitment to our work of changing lives. We at CCBRT Hospital are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of supporters like you who answer the call to give again and again,” commented the Head of Nursing.
She said since 2003, CCBRT has performed more than 10,000 fistula surgeries thus bringing back smiles to many affected women.
“Since 2003, CCBRT exempts all fistula patients from treatment fees by covering fees to and from the hospital and by so doing, addresses barriers to fistula treatment,” she added.
On his part, Regional General Manager of QNET Sub-saharan Africa,Regional General Manager, Mr Biram Fall, said the donation aims to enrich the lives of the underprivileged in the society where they operate and is aligned with the company’s philosophy of Raise Yourself to Help Mankind (RYTHM)
He said the donation reflects the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandate and its commitment to making a positive impact within the communities it operates in.
“Poverty puts people at greater risk of getting infected, and also makes them carry the brunt of its economic fallout,” he explained.
He went on to detail that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many have lost their source of income and are living in uncertainty.
“We wanted to do the little we could to bring some joy and happiness to those who need it the most,” the Regional General Manager added.
Through its community service arm the RHYTHM Foundation has marked the New Year with several impactful donations to underserved and less privileged communities, families and children across many countries in West, Central and East Africa.
