Africa-Press – Tanzania. KAGERA Regional Commissioner (RC), Mr Albert Chalamila has encouraged teamwork spirit and patriotism among Kagera residents while upholding peace and harmony.
He made the remarks recently when he reported to his new office, taking over from Major Gen Charles Mbuge who was relieved from the duties..
“As I start my new duties I appeal for team spirit among all Kagera residents and also urge you to be patriotic and maintain peace and harmony,” he said.
Due to its geographical location, Kagera region shares borders with four East African Community (EAC) member states -namely Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and Kenya across Lake Victoria..
“We have a duty to maintain the political diplomacy initiated by our presidents and ensure that the region fully engages in development oriented activities,” he remarked.
Major Gen Mbuge, on his part, congratulated Mr Chalamila for his recent appointment as the new Kagera RC, while also thanking all the workers who accorded him close cooperation during his tenure in office.
