Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Secretary General of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Daniel Chongolo (pictured) has insisted that the party is strong enough to ensure effective implementation of development as per the 2020-2025 election manifesto.
He said, being the ruling party, CCM was responsible for protecting the welfare of all Tanzanians regardless of colour, gender, religions, political affiliation, and tribalism of economic status.
Mr Chongolo was speaking at the CCM Dar es Salaam regional office on his foreleg to the region since he was appointed to the position on April 30, this year.
“The government has been working tirelessly day and night to address challenges that are facing Tanzanians of all walks, and as the party, we will continue supervising implementation of all development strategies,” he said.
He also asked party officials to focus on the development agenda instead of discussing personal issues that carry no impact to the development of people and the country at large.
“The party should focus on addressing challenges in water sector, education, infrastructure, health, land as well as creating conducive business and environment climate,” he said.
Going forward, Mr Chongolo who was accompanied by members of the CCM secretariat, asked the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Amos Makalla to effectively supervise the implementation of development projects.
He was of the view that the government is implementing a number of projects in Dar es Salaam, but the implementation is at low pace, as a result of delaying development.
