During Eid al-Fitr prayers at Gaddafi Mosque in Dodoma, Sheikh Dr. Mustapha Rajabu urged Muslims to uphold the morals and values learned during Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and avoiding conflicts, stating that fasting should serve as a shield against wrongdoing and promote good behavior throughout the year.

Africa-Press – Tanzania. DODOMA Regional Sheikh, Dr Mustapha Rajabu has called on Muslim believers to uphold the good morals and values they embraced during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking during Eid al-Fitr prayers at Gaddafi Mosque in Dodoma, Sheikh Rajabu described Ramadan as a period of spiritual training, urging believers to continue practising the discipline and virtues acquired during the month in their daily lives.

He emphasised that Muslims should completely abandon the wrongdoings they refrained from during Ramadan and remain committed to doing good, warning that engaging in conflicts and disputes undermines the true purpose of fasting.

“I want to tell you, if we create conflicts, it means we only endured hunger. Ramadan was like a month-long training session, planting seeds of faith and peace in our hearts,” he said.

He further noted that fasting serves as a shield against wrongdoing and that it is the responsibility of every believer to preserve that protection by avoiding insults, quarrels and actions that disturb peace in society.

“Fasting safeguards one’s faith and helps one earn rewards, but it also requires maintaining peace within families and the nation. A true Muslim is one from whose tongue and actions others are safe,” he added.

Sheikh Rajabu stressed that the teachings of Ramadan should extend beyond the holy month and be practised throughout the year, including regular recitation of the Qur’an, nurturing love and strengthening unity.

He also cautioned against conflicts and violence occurring in other parts of the world, urging believers to learn from such situations and safeguard the peace experienced during Ramadan.

“Let us go out and promote the peace we have attained. Let us not imitate negative examples from elsewhere where people live in conflict. Our love should not end with Ramadan; let us continue it every day,” he said.

Ramadan is a significant month for Muslims, marked by fasting, prayer, and reflection. It serves as a time for spiritual growth and community bonding. Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is celebrated with prayers and communal gatherings. The teachings of Ramadan encourage believers to embody values such as compassion, unity, and peace, extending their practice beyond the month itself to foster a harmonious society. Sheikh Rajabu’s message highlights the ongoing relevance of these teachings in everyday life.
