Africa-Press – Tanzania. DODOMA City Council Finance and Administration Committee has expressed satisfaction over the ongoing construction of a new health centre at Nkuhungu ward, commending the construction committee for fulfilling its responsibilities.

Finance and Administration Committee members, led by Mr Jaffar Mwanyembe from the Council’s Urban Planning and Environment Committee toured the site and inspected development of construction of the new health centre at the area.

Mr Mwanyemba noted that members of the committee were satisfied with the good work done in construction of the buildings, applauding construction team members for observing the required standards.

Presenting a report to the committee about the construction of the Nkuhungu Health Centre, the construction supervisor, Ms Mwasiti Abdallah said the construction started on March 17 this year with funding from the city council’s own sources.

“The aim is to provide quality and timely healthcare services to the citizens. A total of 208m/- has been received for the construction of an outpatient building and a laboratory,” she noted, adding that so far the outpatient and laboratory buildings have been roofed.

Ms Abdallah expounded that water and electricity infrastructure have been assembled as well and so far the project has been completed by 70 per cent, noting that the amount of money spent so far was 187m/-.

She further informed that the second phase will be construction of surgery buildings, a maternal ward and an incinerator.
