Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Parliamentary Committee on HIV and AIDS Affairs has asked the government to consider the need of allocating its own funds for AIDS control.
Tabling the committee recommendation on budget estimates for the Prime Minister and Parliament Offices for 2020/20121 financial year, the committee chairman, Fatma Toufiq, urged the government to put in place effective measures on finding other sources of revenue that will aid the control of the disease.
The chair proposed that the government should get more money from its internal sources.
“The committee sees that it is a good thing that the AIDS budget should mainly come from within our finances, instead of depending on donors, “she said.
