Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA Cotton Board(TCB) has purchased 16 modern self-propelled boom sprayers to streamline pest control in cotton farming.

Information from the Ministry of Agriculture today, February 24, 2026, stated that the machines have already been distributed to five strategic cotton-producing districts.

The ministry mentioned the districts as Meatu, Maswa, Kishapu, Igunga, and Bariadi.

Moreover, the ministry noted that the initiative aims to support large-scale farmers, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and save time in cotton production.

The Tanzania Cotton Board is a leading organization promoting a highly competitive Tanzanian cotton industry in terms of quality, production, and productivity.

The board has the goal to improve cotton production, productivity, and profitability by maximising compliance with rules and regulations that safeguard the quality of cotton sold both locally and abroad; providing effective and efficient services to cotton stakeholders; and enhancing strong stakeholders’ relationships to boost self-regulation and promotion of production, processing, and consumption of cotton.
