Africa-Press – Tanzania. CONFEDERATION of Tanzania Industries (CTI) in collaboration with its Danish counterpart, have embarked on training its members on responsible business conduct for smooth operations.
Facilitated by the Confederation of Danish Industries (DI) a two day training that kicked off yesterday is also aimed at enabling members to comply with various regulations and principles of business.
CTI Policy Specialist for Trade Mr Frank Dafa said yesterday that topics to be covered in the programme are in line with the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) as pioneered by the United Nations.
“Attending members are being taken through different aspects including anti-corruption, environment, gender anti competition in business,” he said.
According to him, the training is being held under the CTI and DI Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) that was signed in 2018.
Speaking during the training, one of the participants, Denish Kotecha from 21st Century Textile Limited said the training is helpful for them to improve business compliance with all the business regulations.
“It’s good to have sessions of this kind since they are bringing us together, sharing experiences and expanding our network in terms of business,” he said.
Adding: “The training will help us improve our business and daily operations since the facilitators are well experienced with vast knowledge on what should be done for the better prosperity of the business”.
CTI and DI have a long-standing relationship through several DANIDA programmes that have been critical at building the capacity of the Confederation since 1995.
The current CTI-DI Strategic Partnership programme supported by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs started in 2019.
In August this year, the confederation also organized a one day Training on the adaptation of the CTI Code of Conduct which was developed especially for its members especially in order to enhance self-regulations and compliance.
