Africa-Press – Tanzania. PLANS are underway for the Chief Ex ecutive Officers (CEOs) Luxury Retreat Golf tournament to take Zanzibar by storm.
The annual event organised by Sea Cliff Resort and Spa Golf Club of Zanzibar is scheduled to tee off at the nine holes course located near Indian Ocean in Isles on September 18th this year.
Sea Cliff golf Club Manager, Elias Soka told the ‘Sunday News’ from Zanzibar yesterday that preparations for the event have already started as they plan to make it more exciting.
He said that as usual, the one day 18 holes event will bring together CEOs and diplomat golfers from around the African countries.
“It is our pleasure to announce that the prestigious CEO Golf Day 2021 preparations have started and the club as always has the honour to host golfers at the Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar, the home to the first and only championship golf course on the Island,” he said. Soka extended invitation for golfers across Africa to plan for Zanzibar trip.
He noted that the 18 holes stable ford tournament is open for individuals, men and lady golfers. He added that 70 US dollars is pegged as entry fee for those wishing to compete in the event.
Soka also took the opportunity to welcome all companies, institutions and individual sport well-wishers who are ready to advertise their brand during this year’s event by sponsoring to come forward.
Defending champion Tanzanian Joyce Ndyetabura outsmarted other golfers to win her first CEOs title last year and is expected to be there to defend it. Ndyetabura was unstoppable after scooping three-under 39 stable ford points to win the title.
Ndyetabura beat her closest challenger Ugandan Steve Chiwalo, who posted 37 points to finish runners up on countback.
Among other reasons, Soka said that the CEO’s tournament also aims to boost the country’s tourism sector through golf.
