Africa-Press – Tanzania. DEFENDING champions Simba will face their traditional rivals Young Africans for the second time on December 11, about 76 days after their season opening Dar Derby on September 25 at Benjamin Mkapa stadium.
The 2021/22 league fixture released yesterday by Tanzania Premier League Board shows there will be a tight fixture.
The country’s giants will first play on September 25 in the season’s curtain raiser one week prior to the opening of 2021/22 season.
According to the fixture both Simba and Yanga will open their season away; whereas the defending champions Simba will be in Musoma, Mara to face Biashara United at Karume Stadium on September 28th.
Their traditional rivals Yanga will play their season opener in Kagera against Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba stadium on September 29th.
In other opening first round matches on September 27th will be between Mtibwa Sugar and the newly promoted Mbeya Kwanza in Morogoro while Namungo will be at home to host league debutants Geita Gold at Majaliwa stadium in Ruangwa, Lindi.
Coastal Union will face Azam hurdle at Mkwakwani stadium on September 28th as Dodoma Jiji will host Ruvu Shooting at Jamhuri stadium in Dodoma.
Mbeya City will host their regional rivals Tanzania Prisons at Sokoine stadium on September 28th whereas Dar es KMC will be away in Moshi to face Polisi Tanzania at Ushirika stadium on September 29th.
Second round matches will see Dodoma Jiji hosting Simba on October 1st at Jamhuri stadium Dodoma, as Biashara United will be playing Ruvu Shooting at Karume stadium on the same date. Coastal Union will invite KMC at Mkwakwani stadium one day later on October 2nd.
Other second round matches will see Polisi Tanzania hosting Azam at Ushirika Stadium in Moshi, Kilimanjaro on October 2nd and on the same date Yanga will host the newly promoted Geita Gold at Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The league’s fixture shows that Mtibwa Sugar will host Tanzania Prisons in Morogoro on October 3rd as Mbeya City will host Mbeya Kwanza at Sokoine stadium in Mbeya on October 3rd.
On the date, Namungo will host Kagera Sugar at Majaliwa Stadium in Ruangwa Lindi.
From October 4th up to October 12th the league will stop to pave the way for Fifa calendar matches and it will resume on October 16th with a match between Kagera Sugar and Mbeya City at Kaitaba stadium in Kagera while Geita Gold will host Mtibwa Sugar at Nyankumbu stadium in Geita.
On October 17th, Mbeya Kwanza will host Dodoma Jiji at Sokoine stadium and on the same date, Ruvu Shooting will play Coastal Union at Mabatini stadium. On October 19th, Tanzania Prisons will invite Biashara United at Sokoine stadium.
Azam will host Namungo at Chamazi on October 19th and on the same date; Simba will play Polisi Tanzania at Benjamin Mkapa stadium.
On October 30th, Yanga will host Azam at Benjamin Mkapa stadium to revive their last season rivalry after Yanga won their first leg game. Deus Kaseke scored the winner in the match.
Simba will play their first leg encounter with Azam on January 1st, 2022.
