Africa-Press – Tanzania. BONGOFLAVA megastar, Diamond Platinumz will be on stage with a team of entertainers to brighten this year’s Tulia Marathon which flags off in Mbeya today.
The Tulia Trust’s media officer Joshua Mwakanolo said here yesterday that Diamond will sing his big hits to entertain sports fans during the Tulia Marathon festival.
Other music megastars to light up the region’s biggest sports and cultural festival are Raymond Mwakyusa (Rayvan), Zuhura Othman Soud(Zuchu) and Mbwana Yusuph Kilungi (Mbosso).
Alongside the music stars there will be also various comedians and actors to thrill the audience during the festive weekend.
Elaborating on the event’s main race, Mwakanolo said long distance runners from in and outside the country are already in Mbeya for the grand run.
The Mbeya Tulia Marathon is a spectacular annual race held in the outskirts of Mbeya city.
It is a spectacle grand race that gives the participants and the sponsors rare and memorable privilege of racing in the fertile Southern highlands.
The 2018 Mbeya Tulia Marathon is flagged off today.
Since its inception, the event has managed to create positive attention towards supporting underprivileged groups in the society.
“There has been massive response in participation from Mbeya residents, members of parliaments and corporate participants.
A pool of domestic and international corporate organisations did partner with the Tulia Trust last year.
Mwakanolo said: “This has generously contributed to the success of the first Tulia Marathon and, more importantly, scaling up support to the cause that the race advocates.”
