Africa-PressTanzania. DIPLOMATIC Golf tournament innovator and the Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Damas Ndumbaro told golf fraternity to be ready for unique event during the 4th edition of the event next year.

Ndumbaro made the promise after the end of the very colourful and actionpacked third edition of Diplomatic Golf at Kili Golf Club in Arusha last weekend.

According to him, participants have seen the tremendous growth of Diplomatic and promised them a better and superior event in the fourth edition next year.

“I want to take this opportunity to announce that Kili golf club will again be a home to the Diplomatic golf whose tee off date is September 24 and 25 next year,” said Ndumbaro.

He commended co-organiser and Kili Golf owner Saskia Rechsteiner and all staff for a wonderful cooperation that helped make the event wonderful.

Director of the co-organisers Songea Mississippi Foundation (SOMI) Hillary Ndumbaro said that the event had recorded tremendous success within a few years. He explained: “Last year the fund raised through diplomatic golf assisted only one orphanage, but in this year’s tournament the fund raised will be given to three orphanages.

He named the centres that will benefit from this year’s funds include St Anthony Orphanage, STOF Orphanage and SWACCO Orphanage. He also lauded Minister Ndumbaro for creating the idea of using Diplomatic Charity Golf to also help those in need.

“Had it not been you the sponsors of the tournament and golfers who used time and money for playing this event wouldn’t have been successful, as it was where more than 150 players from 13 countries have participated,” he said.

“I would like to thank those who made it possible, including the tournament’s sponsors Radiowave, Germin, Fly Dubai, CRDB, Galaxy, Gran Melia, Kili Villa, Sound of Silence and EUBG.

He also extended appreciation to all participants for demonstrating their outstanding skills and sportsmanship in the event. He stressed that the event not only offers a golden opportunity for golfers to showcase their talents, but raising money for the children in needs from Songea Municipality.
