Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzanian presidential candidate from the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has pledged to build a Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) college in Manyoni District, Singida Region, if re-elected in the upcoming general election.

Speaking to residents of Manyoni on September 9, 2025, Dr. Samia said the proposed institution will serve as a vital solution for youth and the wider community, enabling them to acquire skills and knowledge necessary to cope with the ongoing economic transformation both nationally and globally.

Dr. Samia emphasized that the primary goal is to empower Tanzanians, especially the yout,h to be self-employed or gain employment through various vocational skills, thereby contributing to individual and national economic development.

She concluded by urging residents of Manyoni to continue trusting CCM and to elect leaders who will oversee the fulfillment of such promises, stressing that her government is committed to ensuring that no young person is left behind due to lack of access to vocational training opportunities.

Meanwhile, Dr Samia has promised to build 10 health centers in Ikungi District, Singida region.

“In health, apart from the work we have already done, we are planning to build 10 more health centers within this district. The centers will be located in East Ikungi, covering areas such as Siuyu, Ligwa, Mkiwa, Isuna, and Mang’onyi, and five centers in West Ikungi covering Puma, Muntiri, Minyuge, Igongwe, and Mwaru,” he said.

Additionally, on the education front, he stated that, besides the progress already made, they will continue the policy of free education and keep improving the infrastructure of classrooms in primary and secondary schools.
