DTB set strategies after promotion

Africa-Press – Tanzania. AFTER being officially promoted into the next season’s Premier League, DTB striker Amis Tambwe said they are overwhelmed to accomplish the priority they put forward at the start of the championship campaign.

A scene of celebrations brightened Azam Complex in the city when DTB beat Pamba 1-0 over the weekend to seal a promotion to dine on the Premier League table next season.

Without doubt, massive investment DTB splashed in their squad by bringing on board veterans and experienced players, has played a significant role in the race to the top flight league.

They are set to cause trouble in the league next season basing on the nature of players they have and being a financially stable team, likely, they are going to add more talented players to make them withstand Premier League rhythm.

“We are all excited because helping a team to climb into the top flight league is not easy and in my opinion, the championship is more difficult than the Premier League because in the former, there is no cameras and people play without discipline.

“In the top flight league, players play with discipline due to presence of cameras such that any misconduct which happens on the pitch is captured and could later be used as evidence unlike at the championship,” Tambwe remarked.

He added that they will not rush to fight for the next season’s Premier League title but rather play to maintain their stay in the league to get experience and after that, they will begin to challenge for the title.

“Many debutants fail to do well in top flight league because they go with the mentality to win the title in their first spell which is practically impossible. They should play to maintain their stay, get experience and thereafter, they can begin to fight for the silverware,” noted Tambwe.

The former Simba and Young Africans hit-man has so far scored 14 goals to help his team command the top of the table for the most part of the campaign as his scoring boots seem not to have lost their magic.

Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) through their official Instagram accounts have already congratulated DTB for their Premier League promotion.

Coming up, DTB have two away fixtures to play before wrapping their campaign as they expect to face Mashujaa and Kitayosce but they will approach the two games with less pressure as they have already moved up into the Premier League.
