Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Minister for Energy, Deogratius Ndejembi, has directed the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) to increase compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations in the Dar es Salaam region and extend the service to the regions of Dodoma, Arusha, Morogoro, and Tanga.

According to the minister, the move aims at reducing living costs and improving service delivery for citizens.

Speaking in a meeting with TPDC management in Dar es Salaam, he said that though the corporation has established stations in the business city but demand in other regions has grown significantly.

“It is important that these stations are also introduced there. I therefore direct that Dodoma, Arusha, Tanga, and Morogoro receive this service,” he said.

Moreover, the minister noted that apart from the high demand for the service in the country, the President has it in his heart to reduce the cost of living for transport operators.

Additionally, Minister Ndejembi also held a meeting with the management of the Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA), where he urged the institution to enhance innovation in its operations and develop strategies that will bring greater benefit to the nation.
