Africa-Press – Tanzania. The Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania has announced that vacant top posts in three committees have been filled.
Following a recent minor reshuffle by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the committees were required to elect new chairpersons and vice-chairpersons to fill the vacancies left by individuals who were appointed as ministers and deputy ministers.
A press statement issued on Wednesday by the Communication and International Relations Unit of the Parliament Office indicated that Mr Augustine Vuma has been elected to chair the Parliamentary Committee on Public Investments, taking over from Mr Deus Sangu, who was appointed as a Deputy Minister in the President’s Office, Public Service Management, and Good Governance.
Additionally, Ms Mary Masanja has been elected as the Vice Chairperson of the committee.
The statement also shows that Mr Justin Myamoga has been elected as the chairperson of the Parliament’s Committee on Regional Administration and Local Government, taking over from Mr. Dennis Londo, who was appointed as a Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation.
Furthermore, Mr Jafar Chege has been elected as the Vice Chairperson of the committee.
Finally, the statement added that Elibariki Kingu has been elected as the chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Health and HIV/AIDS Issues, taking over from Mr. Stanslaus Nyongo, who was appointed as a Deputy Minister in the President’s Office, Planning and Investment.
