Africa-Press – Tanzania. FLTC Dhosa Popin-A and Cricket Gunners delivered stellar performances as the PBPS 6-Side Night Cricket Tournament 2025 action raged on Thursday evening in Dar es Salaam, with a series of high-energy matches.
In the opening encounter of the evening, FLTC Dhosa Popin-A chased down a target of 73 set by Cricket Gunners, finishing at 76/3 in just 4.5 overs to seal a convincing four-wicket win.
Cricket Gunners rebounded strongly in their second fixture of the night in the tightly contested match against Unity-B.
Both teams finished with identical scores of 74 runs in six overs, sending the game into a thrilling super over.
Cricket Gunners held their nerve in the decider to claim the win. FLTC Dhosa Popin-A returned to action in the third game of the evening, making light work of Unity-B.
After restricting their opponents to 30 runs for three wickets in six overs, FLTC chased down the target in just 3.1 overs, finishing at 35 for one to register a six-wicket win.
The tournament continues on Monday with another exciting set of fixtures as Unity-B will take on Patel-A, Unity-A faces the challenge of Wicked Whacker’s in the following match, before Unity-A returns to the field for their second match of the day, this time against Patel-B.
FLTC Rakin Cars -B and FLTC Dhosa Popin -A currently lead Group A and Group B, respectively, following strong performances.
FLTC Rakin Cars -B remain unbeaten after two matches, topping the group with a perfect record and an impressive Net Run Rate (NRR) of +3.75. DIT Gymkhana also maintain a 100 per cent win rate but sits second due to a slightly lower NRR.
Meanwhile, Wicked Whacker’s, despite playing the most matches in the group, have only one win from three games and sit fourth.
Hitech -B and Patel -B continue to struggle, both winless after two outings. Unity -A is yet to begin their campaign.
FLTC Dhosa Popin -A lead Group B with three wins from four matches, collecting six points.
Flashnet Cric. Pranthanz -B and Hitech -A follow, both with one win from one match. Cricket Gunners are in fourth place with one win and one loss, while Patel-A and Unity-B are yet to register a victory, sitting at the bottom of the group with two losses each.
