Africa-Press – Tanzania. A Tanzanian girl child delegate, Georgina Magessa, has captured attention at the opening of the 152nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Istanbul, after sharing a vivid virtual experience showcasing Tanzania’s iconic landscapes and wildlife.
Magessa said she had the rare opportunity to explore parts of Tanzania she had never visited before through an immersive virtual display at the assembly, describing encounters with baboons, wildebeest herds, and even a tree-climbing lion.
“I saw baboons, I saw a herd of wildebeest, I saw a tree-climbing lion,” she said, highlighting the fascinating behaviour of lions that climb trees to escape heat and insects, as well as to scan their surroundings.
She also described seeing an elephant, calling it “big and beautiful,” as part of the digital showcase of Tanzania’s rich natural heritage.
Magessa used the platform to invite delegates and visitors to engage with Tanzania’s exhibition stand at the entrance of the assembly venue, encouraging them to experience more of the country’s attractions.
She further extended an invitation to the 153rd IPU Assembly scheduled for October in Arusha, urging the international community to visit Tanzania.
“Proudly Tanzanian, unforgettable,” she added, closing her remarks with a strong message of national pride and tourism promotion.
