Africa-Press – Tanzania. Former President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
A statement released by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) on Friday said that Dr Kikwete’s devotion and efficiency in serving the public both politically and socially has been more revealed by his confirmation as the Chairman of the board.
“Throughout his distinguished public service career, both in the Tanzanian government and in international and regional organizations, Dr. Kikwete has dedicated himself to advancing progressive policies for education and women and children’s health,” GPE stated.
Additionally, the GPE also elected Dr. Susan Liautaud who is an international governance and ethics expert to be the Vice chairman of the board.
The newly elected chairman of GDP, Dr Kikwete and his Vice Dr Susan will officially begin their terms on the 15th of September this year.
