Africa-Press – Tanzania. Leaders from different parts of the world including East African are expected to be in the country as Tanzania celebrates its 60th anniversary.
Tanganyika claimed its independence from British rule on 9th Dec, 1961 before forging union with Zanzibar to form Tanzania.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disability), Jenista Mhagama revealed this to journalist in Dodoma on Monday as she singled out leaders from Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) regional blocs will take part in the colourful event.
The event, according to the Minister, will be accompanied with various activities including, but not limited to, a special parade of honour, a display of military attires reflecting the defense and security forces since independence, a demonstration of weapons and military tools used since independence.
