Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Hotel Industry will continue to pick up in few months before the end of the year and show robust growth next year due to the global measures taken against Covid-19.
This was said in Dar es Salaam yesterday by the new General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam, the Kilimanjaro, Mr Alexandre Everberg noting that with the measures taken by the government against the pandemic, it is expected that the hotel industry will gradually pick up from next year.
In the course, he noted that the hotel has opted for digital ways in reaching more customers and improving the hospitality sector by ensuring a safe environment for the tourists during the global Covid-19 pandemic.
“As part of the government’s strategy to curb the spread of the virus, we continue taking the necessary precautions as it is advised by health authorities,” he said.
In his new role, Mr Everberg said the hotel industry has a significant effect not only on the competitiveness of the tourism sector, but also generally on the development of the region
“I look forward to my new challenge as General Manager and the focus point will be to achieve long-term objectives and goals, which is leading the hotel in a safe environment for our colleagues and guests,” he said.
On his part, Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing, Mr Denis Glibic said they are thrilled to have the new General Manager and is optimistic about the future tourism industry in the country.
He pointed out that they are planning to host the 10 years celebration of Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam, The Kilimanjaro this year.
