Africa-PressTanzania. MINISTRY of Industry and Trade, Exaud Kigahe has assured continuous cooperation with investors especially in addressing various challenges facing them in order to stimulate economic growth.

Kigahe made the assurance yesterday during his visit to Nyati cement factory in Kimbiji, Dar es Salaam

He said that the government’s intention is to see all industries operate at full capacity in order to promote employment to Tanzanians.

However, he said the country is endowed with raw materials for making cement thus there was no reason for cement suppliers and retailers to raise prices because they impose burden to last consumers.

“I am delighted with the production capacity of the Nyati Cement Factory owned by the Lake company. This factory produces cement using the clinker they produced themselves thus making the production in this factory 100 percent.

“My visit to the company aimed at observing various production activities and listen to the challenges and work on them with other relevant institutions to allow the factory to proceed with its operations,” he said.

Kigahe also said that high production will increase employment and use of various domestic and foreign markets including the African Free Trade Commission (AfCFTA).

On his part, Nyati cement Head of Mechanical, Biswajeet Mallik said the factory has a fixed capacity of 6,000 tonnes per year and it was currently produce at full capacity.

The factory also employs about 350 permanent workers and other indirect jobs involving food vendors exporters and retailers.

In addition, during his tour, Kigahe visited the Kurasini Industrial, Trade and Logistic Center in the country and instructed the citizens who have not relocated to do so by October 2021 to allow the development of the area.

“I call on the people who are still living here to relocate as soon as possible as the government has already allocated 30/-bn for the development of this area,”

He said the second step is BICO Company under University of Dar es salaam to continue with the feasibility study for the development of the area for Industry and Trade.
