Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA is pushing for more investments in industries to create jobs for its skilled and non-skilled personnel.
Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa told the National Assembly Thursday that the state is also working on closing the skills gap that has inflated unemployment rate in the country.
In 2020, the unemployment rate in Tanzania was at approximately 1.98 per cent. The premier described that lack of skills especially among the youth is amplifying unemployment crisis.
“The government is recruiting more youth for various training to ensure they have the skills needed in the job market, nonetheless, industries,” he said.
The senior government official says the state is pushing for more industries believing it is the best strategy to address unemployment crisis.
He insisted industries provide wide range of opportunities tailored for both uneducated and those with primary, secondary, vocational or tertiary qualifications.
